[Newbies] Help with .changes file

I downloaded the Mac OS version of Squeak and when I started the image I got the message that "/private/.../.change" file was set to read only. 
Since the .changes file needs to be read/write allowed but I'm not able to change it even though I'm the Administrator.
Any hints on how I can correct this problem.
I am running on macOS Big Sur Version 11.6, iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
