How bout hey feds you are are the biggest bunch of Bevis and Butt heads ever
placed on the planet. Can even write a doc that the lawyers can agree on
what it says

Thanks, Matthew - this is all quite interesting.

My conclusion would be that if I would be under the jurisdiction of
the US federal government and wanted to work on the Cryptography
project, I'd just mail the guys as a private person with the words
"hya feds, i'm working on an open source crypto product, get the code
at http://source.squeakfoundation.com/Cryptography and as it is open
source I assume until you tell otherwise I'm exempt from all that
crypto export control stuff you guys concocted".

Or similar wordings ;)
