There are two different VMs for Mac OS X - one that shares the Carbon
codebase with the OS 9 VM, and the other that shares the codebase with
other unix platforms.  It sounds like your 3.8.8 VM is a Carbon one,
whereas the 3.7-7 is a unix one.  You definitely need the unix one for
OmniBase.
