Another Idea we planned to do, have pluggable parsers.

Pier used to have parser defined by SmaCC, and we defined and recuited  
a GSOC student to do this using SmaCC. However without warning the  
parser was replaced with a hand crafted one that is not pluggable.

so simple answer, it is not possible, but it should be.
