Most Windows applications take up so much screen space...

And then they bring up a fixed size dialog box that appears designed
for a small Windows CE screen! (Oh but they add a scroll bar!)

If you have a lot of real estate, use it all with the most pertinent
information. Most of the time this will be text and not graphics. In
Emacs, all kinds of text is "clickable" (actionable?)
