why not go one step more radical? modularising the image is (or can be
seen) as a subpart of the general goal of making squeak handle distributed
objects, and "squeak-central" has already voiced interest towards pushing
squeak in that direction [this also addresses the "event"/msg-ing concern].
so the question is not so much whether such questions are on the
consensus-agenda (they seem to be), but how people can constructively
participate in the polySqueak (distributed squeak) construction process
"from the outside".

(And judging from the recent traffic on the list it seems that several
persons are interested in the latter question :-)
