Thanks for taking on this initiative. Quite often,
many developers are reluctant to make things "easier"
for others because they may feel that the "hard work"
they have applied to their own journey must be
recipricated by all others. However, like i said
before - you can give a developer the best tools, but
he might not give you the best result. Smalltalk
enables programmers to shift their conceptions into
reality with the minimal amount of extra burden.
Squeak has been ported to SO MANY platforms, game
consoles must be done too! Imagine if we could develop
one title, using one set of techinques, with one
development effort spent, and then be able to deliver
to NT, Mac, Unix, Consoles, PDA's, and any other
"up-and-coming" platform? It would be a major
breakthrough in the progress of computing science.
You asked for clarification before on the "we" part of
this issue - i refer to the developers out their who
do not feel that "knowledge is power", or that having
other creatives out their is competition. For example,
if more of this earth played chess, and appreciated
the arts, we'd be living in a vastly greater place!
Thanks for your efforts, i look forward to sending you
a change set of a games library that i've been working
on ever since i got Squeak. I hope you'll find it
useful!! Because i intend to!
