help - minor dilemma

Greetings and auspicious salutations all!

After recently relocating to the speck of sand known as Kauai-Hawaii, I find
myself FAR FAR AWAY from them thar ST user groups and anyone who knows
ANYTHING whatsoever about ST (well, to be fair, there are STRANGE forms of
ST knowledge here...).

I work at a private high school here
(http://kula.org/)(fair to partly primitive site... :)
and have opportunity to REALLY introduce ST here in several ways:

1- via System 2000
http://www2.sjdccd.cc.ca.us/div/infoserv/s2kinfo/index.html
which may play a major role in issues of importance to the school - I meet
with the owner of the school a bit later today for preliminary discussions
(shorts and floppies being the mandatory uniform of the day - no TIES here
:) ). THIS isn't SQUEAK specific, but I'm tossing it out there to see if
anyone has suggestions/etc...

2) There is a small bet on the line: I have made the outstanding claim that
ST is used by OVER 2% of "professional developers world-wide". My question:
where/how do I obtain such validation? When I win the bet, all proceeds will
be distributed... :)

3) I am VERY interested in experiences of TEACHING ST to students ranging
from grades 7 to 12. I am preparing to replace the current "computer"
teacher here: this is his last quarter. He is also the C++/VB/Access guy who
is convinced that ST is a funky dead end road (see the BET in #2 above)!!!
He has expressed that he would be "disappointed" if I were to start teaching
ST when he leaves. After all, he has sparked interest among students in MS
ACCESS and VBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my.... :)

Thanx much - I'm doing what I can to spread the gospel...

My weekly hour of sleep is beckoning :)

KenC
