I want to upload a *first* version to SourceForge in a few days
(currently the SourceForge repository is empty). It's a first test of
the working feeling with SourceForge.

After reading some SourceForge and CVS docs, I have modularized
Ian/Tim's version with finer granularity (many plugins), but changing
the structure to deal with different platforms together with changing
configure and makefiles isn't easy (and not made).

But probably it is best to have a first start: to be able to work at
*one* Linux port together, restructuring could happen later in another
dir tree (possibly with work/help/support by make/configure
specialists).
