   Why not just use
<Attachment missing>...most modern email packages should be able to display HTML/MIME if not 
multimedia...

   If size is an issue, there is always the X-Face header format which 
works well in those email programs and newsreaders that allow you to 
enter a header.   I'll have to dig up my conversion app and run the 
above image thru it...I'll post the X-Face header for those that are 
interested.
