Ger: From our perspectiv it may look unimportant, for them it is on that
moment their whole life! So motivation is an imprtant part! 
But I share also with you the amazement how easy children learn (in our
eyes) very complex things. The big challenge is to use this readiness on the
moment when it is there. Piaget spoke about sensitiv periods. In my
observation children of specific age are very sensitiv for gnomes, later for
dinasours, several years later for horses -especially the Zebra - , then the
univers with its planets and starts and at last: knowledge about hurricanes
(Even here in the Netherlands where we never have these things.) The trick
is to combine these interest with cultural imprtant things to learn, and
then convincing the headmasters....
