I think I understand his problem.

When I have learned/taught the use of various computer environments,
I have been surprised at how valuable it is to actually watch an expert
use the tool telling and describing their objectives and how they go
about achieving those objectives.

On more than one occasioni, I've learned more watching somebody use a
tool as it was intended to be used (maybe as _they_ intended it to be
used)
but which operation was not (could not be) described elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I've not yet had the benefit of one of Alan's or Dan's
demos
so I too am still just kind of stabbing around.

So, what would I like to see...

- a video of an expert using the data browser to
 a) do a very simple project
 b) maintain/extend and existing project
 c) debug a common type of problem

- a video of various Squeak configurations and how and why those
  experts configured them that way

- in the first video, perhaps as an extension, the whole build, test,
debug
cycle in Squeak would be extremely valuable to watch (even for some
  apparently trivial problems).

Think about this next time you buy a computer.
