Actually, yeah, I would argue it were it really germaine.  ;-)  IAE, as I
said, it simplifies the parser if the tags are well balanced.  Regardless of
whether you balance the tags explicitly or implicitly, I still think that
the right thing is to start over with a DOM package, and build from there.
