Native GUI Squeak?

That depends a lost on the OS. I can't say in detail about _current_
version, but M$ used to find their own widgets so bad that nearly every
applicaton they sold used near-exclusively user_draw widgets and
emulated them.... which was very amusing to find out when we were
working on the host-widgets project at ParcPlace some years ago. You can
find out a bit more on this work if you websearch for things like:-
widgets oopsla yelland van gogh parcplace
etc. Several papers should turn up with luck.
