Re: Three Threads Of SqueakSorry if it comes across like that, because I am not

" adamantly opposed to Smalltalk, Squeak, creativity and even the individuals involved in this effort".

History is littered with the headless bodies of critics (analysts). They are the messengers people love to hate. It has never been an easy job.
Everybody thinks that the analyst is out to satisfy some personal grudge. Far be it from the truth.
Tell me the Theatre critic who ever really has a friend. If he does his job properly it should not matter.
I have stated time and again that I personally think Smalltalk is great and I admire Alan an his team for creating it. The only other language I use now, apart from smalltalk is AWK. The original "design" team have nothing to fear from criticism. Their place in history is assured. It is time to move on that is all.

HOWEVER Smalltalk is not perfect for me personaly and the group of people that I represent; System Designers.
It doesn't matter how perfect Squeak is for the "other Group" who are happy with it the way it is.
I have tried as politely as I possibley can, to get across to the general Squeak Community that there should be room for several Threads; several opinions.
Of course it is obvious that there are many more people who will be interested in Lower CASE Program coding: CASE meaning Computer Assisted Software/System Engineering.
There will be considerably less interested in Upper CASE System pseudo-coding but, they too have a right to discuss design problem without having to continually apologize.

Smalltalk has definate weaknesses at the upper levels. Even Alan obliquely admits that.
I would like to see them addressed so that Smalltalk can be what it deserves to be PERFECT.

So Gary to your question.
"why are you wasting your valuable time on this list?"
I am most certainly not: wasting my valuable time on this list.
I would just like people to go about what they do best and let me get on with my job.
Thank for your curtesy gary

  Justin;

  Forgive me if I've misinterpreted your posts, but if you're so adamantly opposed to Smalltalk, Squeak, creativity and even the individuals involved in this effort, why are you wasting your valuable time on this list?
