Removed redundant implementations of #species which did the exact same
thing as the imlementation present in Object (and no superclasses
implementing it inbetween). Relying on the inherited version seems to be
around 8% slower though, so perhaps some of these implementations are
there for performance reasons? (But this would need to be in a tight
loop to have any impact. Or are these here for documentation reasons?
