Ned,

    I created a SqueakMap item under root,
    then drag a class from the class pane and
    drop it onto SqueakMap. It doesn't work.

    I could do this in v3.
    Did I miss something ?

StarBrowser v4 has been registered on SqueakMap.

The goal of the Star Browser is to allow you to browse your Smalltalk
environment and classify anything you encounter while doing so. Therefore it
has full drag&drop support to allow you to classify software elements such

classes and methods while you are browsing.

It is easily extended to handle browsing most anything in the Squeak
environment.
