Nothing at all. However, it's how the world, and especially the USofA part of
the world, works. With a muddy license, with uncertain clauses like you now
have e.g. in the Squeak License, people are hesitant to base products on
Squeak (or whatever they want to do). That's the beauty of an OSD-compliant
license - you know the minimal set of guarantees, so you can just go on
minding your business. 

IOW, what we're trying to achieve is to get *rid* of these licensing issues.
But they are necessary, even the FSF - who is totally opposed to software
licensing - had to use the existing legal system to express that opposition...
