I've updated Marcus Denker's and Stephen Stafford's old Debian packages
and rebuilt them.  Even if Debian isn't going to put these in their main
distribution, it seems like they are convenient to have available.  They
can be downloaded from:

 ftp://st.cs.uiuc.edu/pub/Smalltalk/Squeak/3.2alpha/unix/debian/

Let me know how it goes!  The compiled versions are x86-only, "unstable"
only, and they aren't apt-get-able, but it's a start....
