problem running Squeak on Linux under Enlightenment

I am having a really peculiar problem running Squeak on my Linux
partition (RedHat 7.2) under Enlightenment (yes I know it's a hog, but
that's a debate for another time). What looks like is happening is:

1. Squeak starts up fine
2. I get the initial refresh of the screen and can see the image (for
maybe .5 seconds)
3. The image begins to resize itself (shrinking)
4. Refresh tries to keep up (consequently I all see is a flickering
black screen)

I have not let this go until it is so small that it can't shrink
anymore, I think that would take too long. I don't have this problem
when using Sawfish or WindowMaker.

TIA,
