Hi John,

It would be great if Squeak can use VST instruments.

I wonder if you came through Psycle at :

		http://psycle.pastnotecut.org/portal.php

		http://sourceforge.net/projects/psycle/

It has both native plugin instruments and support for VSTi.

	Cheers,

	PhiHo.

Jeff,

If you're willing to buy a sample CD (designed for use with sampling
synths), then Squeak has a dececent sample player. One possible source
of sample CD's is the McGill University Master Samples collection. These
disks have AIFF file recordings of each note of a given instrument. I've
used their strings, woodwinds, and brass sample libraries. I believe
they have one disk that has Piano and Percussion.

See the class "SampledInstrument" for more info.
