I made sure I stay above stream level, so Craig's IO and Stream
refactoring would go nicely with this. It does though conflict with some
(not all) of the Correspondents stuff, but uses some of the ideas :-)
Let's just see where this experiment (and that's what it is in the
current state) leads us...
