Oh!  Yes, this would work, wouldn't it?   In fact we could have the
categories #('.unread.' '.marked.' '.repliedto.') and certain actions in
the ui would stuff msgs in these categories.  Moving a msg from new to
squeak should not affect whether it is in one of these categories, while
selecting an .unread. msg for 5 seconds would remove it from the
.unread. category.  .repliedto. would gain an entry when we send a msg
generated as a reply.  Finally, .marked. can gain an entry when we
'flag' a msg through a menu option or something.

We still haven't heard anything about an address book.  I searched the
swiki with no hits.

I'm attaching a change to remove the scroll bars from the status panes.
