What's the meaning of "squeak"?

As Squeak was called "Squeak" before Disney, it's not Mickey Mouse,
who gave us this name.

As I understand it, the origin is a well kept secret, but here come some

wild speculations:

- Maybe it's an acronym: "software quality for educators, artists and 
kids"?

- Or is it the slogan of Neil Stephensons mouse-army in "Diamond Age", 
which came up
around the same time as Squeak?
