Yes, I would say so. But I would still reflect on writing an
Actor->Squeak converter/compiler instead. :-)
I can't really see what you would win by going down directly to
bytecodes, let the Squeak compiler handle that!

Note that you could probably still be able to write/edit Actor code if
you really want to. This is what we did - the developers could still
work in their BASIC-clone, but the idea was to give them the ability to
move over to Smalltalk if they wanted to.
