What about this 512 byte image header? I had to do a:

dd if=original.image of=patchedimage.image ibs=512 skip=1

...and then this image works on W2k with Andreas' newly posted VM at SF,
but not before.

I have lost the postings about this so I have no idea what the problem
is/was or anything.
Note: Currently I am using Ian's VM on Linux - perhaps that is the
source of the problem.
