Zurgle 1.0a [Trekker petition]

Martin,

I ripped most of the Borg theme off of the web a couple of years ago and
moved the bits around. I tried to get permission for further distribution
from the author, but I couldn't locate him. This was back when
www.themes.org was in its heyday, I noticed recently that it's just coming
back to life. The Borg window frame is just a demo I practiced with, for a
full theme you'd also need to do all of the controls (like the scroll bars).
Generating the artwork from scratch is a large amount of work. In getting
the Windows look it was probably a quarter of the project time just fiddling
with the bitmaps even though I had all of the artwork available on my screen
already.

You can take a look at the themes site, and search for a Star Trek theme as
a starting point. They probably have several different backgrounds that you
can use as is.

As is the case with all of this type of stuff I can help with the technical
side, but the artwork is better left to people who actually have some talent
in this area. My artistic talent stops at malformed stick figures. There is
a large amount of work putting together the artwork for a theme, but I'd be
happy to help integrate another theme into the zurg.

However, writing different themes is not my lifes calling. I can help
someone build another theme if they supply the artwork to integrate it, but
I'm not going to be able to do several of them. I'd probably try to write it
up on the Swiki somewhere as a project.

Cheers,

Jim
