Problems running Squeak

Sorry - the squeaking sound is generated by machine language code which
is encrypted by keys held by giants in the land of zabolee. You could
try to get the keys, but first you'd have to swim the moat of slime and
sneak by the hundred headed witch who waits for passers-by and sharpens
her teeth while drinking the blood of newts. And then you'd be in
violation of the DMCA anyway.

:-) (apologies to Shel Silverstein, btw)

Actually, I'm a bit of a newbie myself who has fallen into hacking the
VM as my first project. Have you tried an earlier VM, by chance? Or
one with/without D3D and/or OpenGL? Or even compiling one? Might be
worth a try.
