I like this. It would be nice to set up a page on a swiki for "orphaned" 
packages/applications like Debian. Once an application is removed an 
email can be sent to the list concerning "orphaned" apps and then 
interested volunteers could step forward to become maintainers.

Will SM have an orphaned/broken/unmaintained branch for such apps? I 
think that would be nice. So that if someone in the future new to Squeak 
was wanting to create an app but did not find one among the active 
maintained apps they could look among the 
orphaned/broken/unmaintained/incomplete apps to see if they can find 
some direction or a step up for their app.

Just some thoughts.
