Why not use a simple (say) XML/RPC protocol between the local and the remote
Squeaks? In Germany they say "wenn schon, dann schon", which I liberally
translate to "use Squeak everywhere if possible and feasible" ;-)

I'd rather not mess around with my Apache setup for experiments, and it's way
easier just to distribute a ready-to-run "DVS server image", IMHO (I'll be
happy to fire it up, just need to reboot the SqF virtual Linux box with double
the amount of RAM :-)). 

Or do you have suggestions that wouldn't infringe on httpd.conf for support of
HTTP PUT? Does it need to be PUT? POST would work just as fine...
