# Personally I would perhaps instead go even more lightweight (as
# previously stated) but I don't care as long as it runs in Squeak.

Perhaps I'm missing part of what this discussion is about, but I
thought I read somewhere that you guys were looking for a way to have
Apache communicate with commanche for web services.

Assuming I'm somewhat on topic, I'm going to spew out a couple of
ideas.

Firstly, I've got a part of my web site being served through
comanche today using mod_proxy. The only real downside of this is that
comanche doesn't seem to be aware of this type of configuration, so it
logs all requests as coming from my web server.

At work, we have a mux protocol based on an early draft of
hessian:

	http://www.caucho.com/hessian/hessian-draft-spec.xtp

It's a binary protocol that allows bidirectional communication
between servers. I believe mod_caucho uses this protocol (or something
very similar) in its communications and it seems to be an efficient
protocol on the wire.
