Bijan & Aaron,

You are right, of course. I was executing fuzzy thinking. :-)

Perhaps all that is needed is a PDA project. The project window would open
to a fixed size (the size/shape of a particular PDA) and the morphs/apps
within the project would have to be scaled to fit the bounds of the project
(perhaps they could auto-scale??). Then you could drop any morph into the
PDA project and see how it looks/runs/etc. :-)

I guess the only other things that such a project might need would be a few
buttons that emulate the hardware buttons and a hand that is tied to your
mouse, but acts like a pen (to simulate a pen interface).

Oh, and you'd want a quick & easy way to enable/disable the programmer
facilities in the PDA project (to simulate a real run-time PDA app) --
perhaps another button could be used for this purpose.

Cheers,

---==> Chris

PS> Frankly, I'm very excited about such a project. I've dreamed of
writing an application in Squeak that has a "full service" interface on a
desktop and a "no frills" interface on hand-helds. Then you could
synchronize their data by connecting the two images and using some object
marshalling protocol. The way I envision it, you'd be able to take your
handheld everywhere with you and use the app as is desired, then, when you
get home and get the images synchronized, you can run analysis, reports,
upload to the web, etc., from your home computer.

I'm not at liberty to say what my particular application is, but I expect
that there are limitless numbers of small apps that could benefit from this
kind of thing.
