Dvorak's column in the new PC mag mentions squeak.

Not that "Squeak as a free replacement for PowerPoint" is a BAD thing, mind
you . . .

PowerPoint is pretty much ubiquitous in many business and educational
markets, and widely used elsewhere, and it is that very ubiquity which makes
PP's limitations chafe, as everyone who uses it wants to do *something* that
their audience hasn't seen before. Squeak-as-PowerPoint offers a zillion
possibilities, from almost limitless graphic import and manipulation
capabilities to web connectivity, tremendous multimedia power, and unmatched
portability.

A ". . . for Dummies" level explanation of using Squeak to build eye-popping
presentations, even if nothing but that tiny corner of "The Worlds of
Squeak" was mentioned, would be likely to give Squeak its strongest
non-techie push since it was introduced to fifth graders and put Squeak on
many thousands of desks and laptops. Once it begins to be used for
presentations, intelligent and motivated users will undoubtedly begin
experimenting with the additional capabilities Squeak gives them, if only to
gain the "Wow! How'd ya DO that?" advantage, and from there it could go
literally anywhere.

I hope Alan's documentation, as mentioned in the column, will be made widely
available and soon enough (and visible enough on the Squeak.org website) to
be downloaded with all those copies of Squeak Dvorak's suggestion could get
into the hands of his readers.

A nice mention, and a wide (if not always deep) audience, but I hope
Dvorak eventually figures out that Squeak is more than a free replacement
for PowerPoint. Of course, as soon as TPTB at PCMag realize Squeak isn't
only, or even primarily, Wintel-based, they'll start finding reasons to
revive Microsoft Bob . . .

  (tongue firmly in cheek :-)
