I just finished reading an article on Dan Bricklin's web site
entitled "Why Jonny can't program":

He contrasts different types of programming environments
and attempts to identify factors that contribute increased
acceptance by "non-programmers". His ideal system is one with
direct manipulation ala morphic. An interesting read IMHO.
