Haven't seen anything other than the "naive" fix which Brent just posted.

Since 3.5 is already gamma, I'm not sure if we want to delay it for this fix,
if we're not even sure about the fix yet.

On the other hand, I'm not sure if anyone is anxiously awaiting the release of
3.5 since it only has a couple of fixes and is coming so soon after 3.4 (and
we're already rolling ahead with 3.6alpha fixes), so in theory we could
postpone 3.5 a couple weeks *if* we had a solid-looking fix.

On the other hand again, there's something to be said for sticking to the
schedule unless we hit a major problem. :-)  This particular problem has been
around for several months, at least, so it probably wouldn't be terrible to
just put it in 3.6alpha only.
