I have heard sillier things, however: in the recent DDJ I read that all the widely used programming languages in the future will be XML variants that programmers manipulate using GUI WYSIWYG XML editors. The author of the article really didn't have much to support the use of XML as a program format except that programmers are the only people left who use flat text editors and they really need to get with the times. :)
