This still doesn't one bit to convince me that antialiasing is a good
idea for desktop fonts. For example, when looking at any word with a
washed-out 'w', I constantly have to suppress the urge to take my
glasses and wipe of some dirt.

I'll probably be a happy user of the good ol' bitmaps for quite some
time to come, until displays go well above 100ppi :-)
