I'm sure other folks will point you at the free books that Stephan Ducasse
(sp?) offers, if not just google for 'free smalltalk books'. However,
given your background, you may find the tutorials and such at
http://www.cincom.com/SmalltalkTutorial/tutorial/weblogstatstoc.htm to be
more up your alley. It is VisualWorks-specific. I have both Smalltalks,
visualworks non-commercial and Squeak. They are targeted at different
niches, the Cincom offering is more geared toward enterprise applications
and Squeak more at multimedia apps. I like them both, each for their own
strengths. And don't forget all the wonderful information available at
http://www.squeak.org

Welcome and lots-of-luck!
