Is it safe to assume that when you say "palms," specifically mean
computers running PalmOS? If not, please clarify.

If so, there really hasn't been any change in regards to getting Squeak
run on PalmOS devices. The same issue with porting Squeak to PalmOS 1
still exists with PalmOS 5.2.1, the newest: its architecture. PalmOS is
relatively primitive, from the standpoint of porting Squeak. You can only
allocate 64K chucks of continuous RAM, and until POS 5, that was only 32K.
If someone had the time and the will, someone could pull some crazy tricks
out of their hacking hat and get Squeak to run on the PalmOS, but with
other options for PDA Squeak, I suppose that no one has thought it worth
the substantial amount of time to put the work in.

To my knowlege, no one is working on this.

will be able to run without an immense porting effort. The specifics
haven't come out yet for PalmOS 6 yet, but from some of the news I've
read, POS6 is supposed to be a lot more like a "real OS."
