[REQUEST] change command+w

Can we change command+w in text-editor panes to, instead of deleting the prior
word, merely select it.

This has a couple of benefits:

  - it provides a non-intrusive "confirmation" to the user
  - provides a handy alternative to deletion, such as cut or copy.

Impact is nil, since no additional or different keystrokes are needed to
"delete word"; as before, just continue typing.

It almost feels more "object-oriented" too.. you are selecting the prior word
"object" so you can then invoke your choice of most common editor "messages"
for it..

I'm not familiar with the involved classes, it's probably a really simple
change. Does anyone know?

Does it sound like a good candidate for base-behavior?
