Not exactly.

In the past, we've made a new version of sources when the changes file gets really big -- like comparable to the sources.  It was this way at Version 3, and we're there now again.  We also always have changed the version number when images become incompatible (V1 -> V2), but it's supposed to be OK to go to a higher version just to clean up the sources.

There may be other plans afoot, but the final 3.7 or 3.8 could be declared to be 4.0, at which time we would condense sources to SqueakV4.sources.  This need have no connection to incompatible image changes, except that if such changes are made in the future, it would (the pattern goes) become V5, with a matching set of sources.

The guides may have a clearer (and possibly different ;-) plan about this.
