What you are describing is a situation where someone has messed up my
nice assignment arrow. Even as I type I am scanning the noosphere to
find the culprit(s).... sharpen finger...... aim.......

Instead of risking punctured eyeballs, wouldn't it be nicer if we
(thinking particularly of those folks that have done a lot of work
around the font stuff) could come up with a nice way to get it right.
I'm sure it's difficult, but there's a lot of us and some of us are
right smart on a good day.
