Concerning the term "sandbox", I note that it is widely used in
several programming language communities to refer to a restricted
environment.  I've seen it used with Java, Tcl, and Erlang, amongst
others.

One might as well reject Operations Research for talking about
"games" or some of the formal methods for studying concurrency
for talking about "pebbling".
