Have you been able to crash it the same way using your pre-3.6g image?

If this happens again, using an image that you know has worked well with a
previous version of the VM, could you send me the contents of

  ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/squeak.crash.log

along with the SqueakDebug.log?  Thanks!
