It would be really nice if the "Quit" menu item actually worked, so 
that one needn't go to the shell window and figure out how to quit.  
 From the help file:

1. Take a deep breath, relax, and marvel that anything ever works right.


2. If you are going through the tutorial and are stuck and simply want
    to quit and try again you can:

    o  Use ps to find the Unix process ID, and do a "kill -9 <pid>", or
    o  Go to the shell window in which you started Self and type
       "quit" there.
