I don't have to imagine this.

We have a site licence for the Rational tools.
However, the actual CD(s) we had were only for Windows and I think Linux.
I wanted to try one of the tools, but my box was SPARC/Solaris.
So I had to download the trial version, despite our site licence.

Due to (a) their confusing and inadequate installation instructions at
the time and (b) a delay waiting for our sysadmin to find enough free
disc space for me to unpack it, I never *did* get to try that tool,
because the evaluation licence expired before the tool could be
installed.

Needless to say, I still don't use any Rational tools.
