The problem with these kinds of solutions (and opening new windows) is they
leave lots of windows open, and you constantly have to close windows.

That's one of the reasons the chaser browsers in OB are a good thing -- you
get a huge pile of windows to close when you finally get the information
you're after.

The scheme I mentioned earlier, where you push the state of the browser on
a stack, and pop it off afterwards, is simple, fast, and effortless to
manage.
