ODE TO JOY: ME SO HAPPY!!!

After spending the last few days wresteling with a bug in linux 2.6.1,
yes, the glorious open source OS does have major bugs....

I tried to think of what I would be doing with my computer if I had no
linux problems, then I remembered Squeak. Having been away from it since
an illness back in mid December, I had the inspiration of designing a
Project/World that would behave alot like the great Super Nintendo
emulator ZSNES in allowing one to create truly superb RPGs...

The engine would allow the user to create an RPG stored in a platform
independant format (seperate from squeak; games are art and they should
be made in such a way that they may be enjoyed for generations...)

I learend a fair ammount about projects and have a few ideas about how
to make a smoothly-scrolling multi-layered tile map...

In doing so I discovered that projects could be isolated from the rest
of the system... I said to myself "What's this?" and when I looked I saw
that it was almost EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED TO DO IN MY OWN OS!!! SOME
ABSOLUTE ULTRA-MEGA GENIUS, (of the calibre one can only find among the
Squeak community and, possibly, Mensa...)

I'm talking about the Environment class. By the happiest of
cooincidents, it also had a class comment allowing me to gain some small
understanding of the genius of its design.

It will probably need some tweaks to make it secure but it looks
EXTREMELY impressive.

I still need to work out some problems with processes and how they
interact with environments (make some design decisions, etc...) but I
feel like I'm five years closer to achieving Nirvana! Or like someone
just handed me a million bucks! =P

THANKS TO ALL FOR TURNING MY MISSERABLE DAY INTO ONE OF MY HAPPIEST!!! =)
