I've verified that this fix makes it possible to save and load TTFonts 
in MIME encoded/compressed format.  This is needed in order to convert 
the BitstreamVeraFonts sar file into a changeset which can be added to 
the update stream.

So, I'm inclined to approve this unless someone finds a significant 
problem with this...
