I loaded 3.7.3b4 from the ftp site 
ftp://st.cs.uiuc.edu/pub/Smalltalk/Squeak/3.7beta/mac/squeak3.7.3b4-mac-vm.sit
and its been fine so far.

I'm new on the Mac. Could someone tell me what the mac equivalent is to 
clicking on the Windows window bar to get the VM and debug information.
